OCtech Hosting Two Free Tax Preparation Sites

For the fifth consecutive year, Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (OCtech) is partnering with United Way of the Midlands to host free tax preparation sites in both Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties. Now through April 18th, accounting students who have been trained and certified to prepare income taxes, will be on hand to prepare taxes free of charge for Midlands residents that have household incomes below $50,000.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program was established to provide free tax preparation services to moderate to low-income families. The VITA program began in the Midlands almost 30 years ago and has made a tremendous impact for working families.

Now through April 17th, the site at OCtech Orangeburg Campus, Room H-601, 3250 St. Matthews Road will be open every Tuesday, except March 13th, from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
