What is the salary of a PTA?
According to the 2010-2011 statistics from the US Department of Labor, Occupation Outlook Handbook, the full-time entry-level average salary for a PTA was $41,000. The median salary for all PTA's at that time was $46,140.
What degree will I earn?
OCtech will award an Associate in Applied Science Degree with a Major in Physical Therapist Assistant.
Will I have to pass a licensing exam to practice as a PTA?
Yes, after receiving your Associate Degree, you will apply to the state upon which you wish to practice for eligibility to sit for the National Physical Therapy Exam. You must pass this exam to practice as a PTA in the state you applied. An exam fee is required.
How do I apply?
You must attend a Health Information Session either in person or online to receive an application packet.These packets will be made available at the beginning of January each year. The deadline for application is April 1 or the Thursday before if April 1 falls on a weekend. Applications should be turned into Admissions between the hours of 8:00 – 4:00 on Monday – Thursday. No late applications will be accepted.
