The OCALC offers FREE classes to adults desiring to learn how to read and write, learn basic math and computer skills. Non-English speaking adults are provided FREE English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

How does OCAL COUNCIL help?
- Finding and recruiting adult students who want to learn to read
- Training volunteers to teach adult students basic literacy skills
- Establishing tutoring centers throughout the county as school rooms
- Providing industries businesses and churches opportunities to establish Adult Literacy Programs.

ABE Program
The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program provides reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, and computer skills instruction to adults. These sessions, led by a trained volunteer tutor, may be one-on-one or small group. In addition, students may attend mini classes to reinforce and practice skills introduced in their classes. ESL Program
In response to the rapid growth of the international population to our community we offer small classes in the English as a Second Language (ESL). The goal is to help internationals improve their English proficiency. Computer classes are offered to assist in Basic English instruction. Apply Here.
