The Middle College Advantage

• Middle College courses may earn both high school and college credit.

• Middle College courses in associate degree programs may earn AP weighting in the high school GPA.

• Students in grades 9 through 12 may attend Middle College at sites within each school district.

• Students may also attend the OCtech maincampus if their major or university transfer course is not offered at their district site. They may also take courses online.

• Students receive preferential college advisement with a college counselor assigned to each high school.

• Students benefit by being better prepared for the demands of college and should experience a smoother transition to college academics after completing high school.

• Students get a jump start on university and technical degree courses. (In order to transfer college credit, students must earn a grade of C or better in the course.)

• Students will have an opportunity to earn a nationally recognized ACT Career Readiness Certificate.

• Life Scholarship Benefits: Students can "bank" Middle College credits and grades towards maintaining or gaining Life Scholarship eligibility after the first year in college! See an OCtech admissions counselor for more details.

• Smaller classes allow for more personalclassroom instruction and attention to detail. Middle College courses are taught by well-qualified instructors, not teaching assistants as in some larger institutions.
