Web Advisor Student Manual

Hints for Using Web Advisor

Use the Menu button NOT the Back button
Because of the way Web Advisor works, it is often better to use the Menu button in the Web Advisor screens instead of the web browser's Back button. Using the Back button will often result in Token Expired messages, which can usually be cleared by clicking on the browser's refresh button.

What if I Think that Information I am Seeing in Web Advisor is Inaccurate/Incomplete?
If you are advising students that are not included on your listing in Web Advisor (or vice versa) contact the Registrar's Office to have this resolved.

What Web Browser Can I Use?
You can use any web browser that supports 128 bit encryption. This includes the past several releases of all popular web browsers.

What if Use a MAC?
Since Web Advisor is a web-based application, it is not dependent on the computer platform. It will work on MAC platforms as well as on Windows.

Why do I get Timed-out?
If you are in Web Advisor but do not do anything for ten minutes, your log in will be timed out for security reasons. Simply log in again to continue working. If you get timed-out in less that ten minute intervals, check the date and time settings on your computer. If these are inaccurate it may cause you to be timed-out in a shorter than ten minute interval.
