Web Advisor for
Students
The Web Advisor system
gives students access to review a variety of student information such as
grades, financial aid and other student account information. Students
may also access a program evaluation which tracks progress towards
graduation as well as have access to view and print transcripts. The Web
Advisor system may be accessed from any computer with access to the
internet both on and off the OCtech campus.

Log on to
the OCtech web page at
www.octech.edu.
From this page, scroll your mouse pointer onto Online Resources and select the Web Advisor option. Once you are
routed into the system you may navigate some areas without a log in
such as Search for Sections. In others areas such as grades,
transcripts, program evaluations and financial aid sections, you
will be required to log in using your username and password.

| New
students who have been admitted to OCtech for the first time |
You will
not have access to online registration until you have registered for
classes at least one semester.
However, you may choose Students on
the Web Advisor Main Page to tentatively plan your schedule.
Access Web Advisor from the OCtech homepage at
www.octech.edu, select Web
Advisor then Students and then Search
for Sections. |

Applicants who have not been admitted to the college |
You may
search for classes without a username and password by choosing
Students on the Web Advisor Main Page.

Online-Web Registration |
Currently
enrolled students may not access the "Register for Sections" section
without approval from their faculty advisor. Your advisor will
determine if on-line registration will benefit you. Web Registration
will be available for initial registration each term. Once
registered, students must see an advisor to add and drop courses. |
How
to determine your username and password
Your username for Web
Advisor is your complete
last name, first initial of your first name and your middle initial all in lowercase
letters (example smithja). Do not insert spaces in your username. Your
initial password is your date of birth
(MM/DD/YY). For security purpose, you will be asked to
change the password the first time you access the system for your
individual records or to register.
Your new password must be 6
to 9 spaces long and include both numeric and alphabetic characters. In
order to protect your privacy, remember your new password, since
no one else will have access to it. Once you gain access to your student
account, you will be immediately prompted to change your password. Your
username will always remain the same.
If you forget your
password
Send an email to
webadvisor@octech.edu. Your new
password will be reset within 24 hours of your request. Your new
password will revert to your original password. Once you log in, you
will be prompted to immediately change your password.
