There are some very good web sites on the Internet
that have been listed under the Q & A section. However, in searching on the Internet for scholarships,
please be aware that some sites may be scams. If any web sites request any money to complete the search,
please do not give out any information to these sites. The sites that have been listed in the Q & A
section are free, high-quality scholarship databases. PLEASE BE AWARE OF SCAMS.
Where do I find out about scholarships?
Any scholarships that come into the OC Tech financial
aid office will be posted on the Campus Cruiser. Also, if any bulletins come to the FA office,
they will be posted outside of the Student Services area on the bulletin board.

Are there any books available
concerning scholarships?
There are several scholarship
books available at the OC Tech Library.
You may also check with the county libraries.
Are there scholarships available on
campus that I could apply for?
Yes, we have Foundation scholarships that are available each year.
Applications can be picked up from the FA office starting in late May of each academic year.
The deadline is usually July 1st for the following school year. Scholarships are awarded yearly.

How do I apply for the Dick Horne Foundation scholarship?
The Dick Horne Foundation scholarship application can be picked up at the
Financial Aid office. The college only gives out the application.
Students must turn in the applications to the Dick Horne Foundation, which
is located at 152 Market St., Orangeburg, SC .If you mail the application,
the address is PO Box 306, Orangeburg, SC 29116-0306. Telephone number is (803)534-2096.
You can apply at any time during the academic year for this scholarship. The Dick
Horne Foundation Board of Directors meets once a month and reviews the applications
individually before awarding the scholarship. They will notify you in writing if
you have been awarded a Dick Horne scholarship.
Can I receive FA assistance from my employer?
Some companies have a tuition assistance program for their
employees. You must contact your Human Resources office where you are employed. They will
notify the FA office if you are to receive assistance.
