The Automated Office curriculum prepares students for entry-level
administrative positions in the office environment. Instruction in
keyboarding, word processing, machine transcription, accounting, office
systems and procedures, as well as written and oral communications, are
included in this diploma program. Familiarity with computer word
processing software and applications is stressed.General office workers should be able to work as part of a team, have good communication skills, and have the ability to pay close attention to details. They must also be willing to change with the needs of the work environment and take on additional work responsibilities. Graduates possessing these skills should have the best opportunities for employment in virtually every kind of industry. All Automated Office courses can be applied to the Associate Degree in AOT.
