Computed Tomography is an advanced
level specialty imaging procedure. CT uses an xray tube and dectector assembly to produce a cross-sectional image of the body part being
scanned. This modality can be used for diagnostic testing, radiation therapy treatment planning and forensic science investigation. The program is designed to include both online and clinical applications to prepare students to produce images for diagnostic, treatment planning and investigative purposes. The certificate courses are sequenced so the registered radiographer can take the twenty-two credit hour courses and obtain knowledge of basic computed tomography and clinical applications. Upon completion of the program the student will be prepared to sit for the ARRT advanced registry in computed tomography. The didactic courses will be taught online and whenever possible, clinical sites near the student's location will be used for the competency-based clinical applications courses.
