Narrative: Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (OCtech) is in operation and has students continuously enrolled in degree programs since the College was established in 1968. The College primarily serves Orangeburg and Calhoun County residents. In 2003 the College served over 3,500 students in credit programs. The College offers over 50 programs of study in a variety of certificate, diploma, and degree programs. Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College is one of sixteen technical colleges in South Carolina that comprise the South Carolina State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education (SBTCE) System.

The College reports enrollment to the SBTCE during the fall, spring, and summer terms. Enrollment is validated through an audit of enrollment records each fall by SBTCE staff. Validated enrollment data is then forwarded from SBTCE to the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (CHE). In addition to enrollment data, the College reports indicators for Performance Funding to CHE via the SBTCE. Federal reporting also includes submission of Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) data each fall. From Fall 1999 to Fall 2003 the College experienced enrollment growth of 40% in credit programs.
