Narrative: Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (OCtech) requires students to complete a minimum of 25% of the academic coursework at the College. Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Policy 4.011: Transfer Credit and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Procedure 4.004.01: Transfer Student Admissions define the policy and procedure for the College. In addition to the requirement that students must complete a minimum of 25% of the academic coursework at this institution, the College also requires that the students complete the last two semesters of coursework at OCtech if they are enrolled in an Associate Degree Program or the last semester of coursework at OCtech if enrolled in a Diploma or Certificate program. Students are required to apply for graduation through the Registrar’s office. This policy is published in the Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Catalog, 2004: Transfer Students.
Graduation application deadlines are included on the academic calendar, and electronic reminders are sent to students through Campus Cruiser email accounts, posted announcements on Campus Cruiser, faculty email notifications, and through hardcopy announcements on the student bulletin board adjacent to the Student Services Office on campus. Faculty members also make announcements to students in class regarding graduation application deadlines. Validation of completed program requirements and the 25% completion requirement is the responsibility of the Academic Program Coordinator with oversight from the Academic Division Dean. Approved graduation applications are returned to the Registrar’s office by established deadlines for processing.
