Welcome to Counseling Services
Sometimes you need somebody who will really listen when you talk about what’s going on in your life. Sometimes you need somebody who can help you do better in school and help you figure out where you’re going. The staff in the Counseling Services will listen, work with you and help get you moving in the right direction. Sometimes you just need a friendly ear, and that’s just what you’ll find with our counselors. We’re here to help you discuss personal and school related issues that you may not be able to discuss with a friend or family member.
The mission of the Counseling Services is to help students make appropriate educational decisions, set achievable and realistic goals, resolve academic and career concerns that can interfere with their ability to succeed in college.
Our purpose is to professionally and ethically guide students through an interactive process of increasing self-understanding and developing positive behaviors while encouraging critical thinking and healthy decision-making and expanding awareness of supportive resources.
Why is counseling important?
Research shows that counseling can help students develop strategies to cope with personal and career problems that affect their academic progress. Counseling is a tool that can assist you in reaching your educational goals and succeed in life.
