Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for scheduling and completing mechanical design of QED2 Switchboards.  This includes the creation of (3D) parametric models needed for the development of bus, barriers, supports, sheet metal parts and assemblies. The successful applicant will also assist Application/Order Engineering with conceptual design layouts  and bill of material creation. Must have the ability to design and model parts and assemblies given basic conceptual information.  Must be able to effectively utilize time to maintain order schedules.  Ability to interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel is essential.  Familiarity with UL 891 preferred.  
Qualifications:  
5 -10 years experience in mechanical design and drafting desired. Job Title:  FAB SHOP TECHNICIAN

Shift:  1st Typical Duties:

Must be able to measure, cut, form, weld, or join various metals to form fabricated parts.  Must be able to set up, adjust, and use welding equipment at proper wire feed rates and heat settings per standard practices.  Must be able to operate other equipment in the fab shop such as bandsaws, drill presses, grinders, shear, and press brake.  Demonstration of the above skills will be required during a qualification period (first 30 days).

Job Title: Machine Set Up

SCOPE:                                                                                                                                 

Primary function is to set up machines by aligning various types of cutting, grinding, heating, cooling, sizing and speed and feed control apparatus as necessary tom produce parts in accordance with engineering and quality specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·       Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.  Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence.

·       Responsible for change over of machines and production lines when production is scheduled to change product.

·       Determine causes of machine malfunction, make adjustment or repair in order for machine to process materials in accordance with specifications.

·       Perform operational preventative maintenance according to schedules.

·       Check cycle times to insure production process is in accordance with process specifications.

·       Read dial indicators, chamfer gauges, calipers and other measuring devices to insure quality standards are met.  If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Operator will stop production and consult with Set-Up Personnel or Section Leader to correct.

·       Assist Set-Up personnel during operation by making minor machine adjustments and tooling settings.

·       Record production results, quality checks and scrap as required.

·       Responsible for all 5-S and general housekeeping daily.  Perform major cleanup on the line as required.

·       Train other associates as directed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Plant Engineer

DEPARTMENT: All Production Areas

REPORTS TO: Plant Operations Manager

This is a salaried management position with benefit package including annual bonus plan.

SALARY RANGE (depending on experience): $65,000 $75,000 (Base & Bonus)

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is responsible for the day today support and execution of engineering projects, assistance to the maintenance department and production assistance assignments.  The Plant Engineer will conduct research to develop new manufacturing processes, analyze operating procedures, equipment and machinery functions, and make recommendations for reducing processing time and cost. The engineer will work with equipment for safe storage and transportation of chemical solids, liquids, and gases as well as design control systems for chemical plants.  Will also perform tests and take measurements in order to determine the most efficient production methods and develop instrumentation and control systems that will safely and economically produce the highest quality product.

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY: Performs duties with only general direction and defined latitude for independent judgment within established guidelines and policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Some work is performed outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions. Other work is performed indoors at the production facilities. Work performed in this job will place the employee at risk of exposure to chemical hazards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1.     Participate with operations manager to determine most effective arrangement of operations, such as mixing, crushing, material transfer, distillation, and drying.

2.     Prepare estimate of production costs and production progress reports for management.

3.     Perform tests throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables, including temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.

4.     Conduct research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical

1.     35 years plant experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing setting.

2.     Must have proven troubleshooting skills in a process manufacturing environment.

3.     Liquid handling and solids handling experiences desired.

4.     Must have a thorough knowledge of work hazards, safety procedures, and plant safety matters.

5.     Proven ability to determine capital expenditure needs of a plant and spec out equipments as defined by capital expenditure needs, coordinate installation and operations of such.

6.     Previous direct interaction with ISO, SCDEC, OSHA, FDA agencies a plus.

7.     Must be capable of critical thinking and a proven problem solver.

8.     Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

Physical Capabilities

Ø  Obtain and maintain a South Carolina Environmental Systems Operator certification of at least a Class "C" Biological.

Ø  Perform start-ups, shutdowns, and adjustments to area equipment as well as routine responsibilities associated with lockout/tagout of equipment.

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is responsible for the day-to-day support and execution of engineering projects, assistance to the maintenance department and production assistance assignments.   • Obtain and keep a good working knowledge, assist in performing routine, preventative, and unscheduled maintenance on the BFS Machines and resin handling equipment
  • Preparing the BFS machines for batch filling. Tasks typically include:  changing code magazines, ensuring proper filters are in place and properly tested, connecting the appropriate holding tank to the fill suite, steam sterilization, filter drying, starting the BFS and making initial mechanical and filling adjustments.
  • Monitor the BFS machines and support equipment during the batch filling.
  • Perform routine shift checks and document appropriately.
  • Make adjustments to ampoule weight, forming, and fill volume during batch filling as needed to maintain process control.

·       Candidate should be well versed in resolving common computer problems including viruses, slow performance, errors, Internet/e-mail client set-up, computer-related devices and peripheral issues.  Must be comfortable working in small spaces (attics & crawl spaces) and at various heights up to 40 feet. Job requires the ability to climb ladders in a safe manner while carrying tools and equipment.  Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and work flexible hours.
