A pathway to Clemson.
Associate Degrees, Certificate
We know it's more than a career choice.
Agriculture is a way a life. Even though we aren't all farmers, we are all impacted by agriculture daily. This is a huge industry in South Carolina with a wide variety of career options. If you're interested in agriculture, we have a program that will challenge you and feed your interests.
One of the highlights of being an OCtech Agriculture student is field trips. We believe in lessons taught in and out of the classroom.

Melissa Plummer, Dean of Arts and Science, discusses OCtech Agriculture programs and the different paths students can take.

James Smoak of the Clemson University Edisto Research and Education Center is a graduate of OCtech's Soils and Sustainable Crops program.

Madison Cutts of Clemson University's College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences gives an overview of transfer options.

You can develop your interest in agriculture on any level you want. Many of our students take what they learn back to the family farm to make it more profitable. Others transfer to Clemson University, where they can pursue a wide variety of career options. Find the program that's best for you!

This Associate Degree program is for those who are in or want to be invested in farming. You'll take classes like Agricultural Calculations, Pest Management and Personal Finance. You'll learn how to manage all aspects of running an agricultural-based business.
The Sustainable Agriculture Certificate will equip you with the understanding of good agricultural practices to use in farming and supporting industries.

If agriculture is your passion, then this is your program. Start your journey here and continue it at Clemson. Doing this will save you money and make you better prepared to succeed and meet the demands of Clemson's program.
A degree from Clemson in Agriculture Education will open the door to a wide range of career choices. With a shortage of agriculture teachers, becoming and agricultural educator is great choice. You can also be a part of agriculture leadership with organizations such as Farm Bureau or continue your education and work toward being a Clemson Extension agent.

If your main goal is to transfer to an agricultural program at Clemson University, you can complete your first two years here at OCtech. You will fulfill most of your general education requirements as well as some agriculture course work.
