Work-study is a federal need based award granted to eligible students who would like to work part-time on campus while completing their degree program. Work-study was designed to provide financial assistance to students through valuable work experience, encourage community service and work related to the student’s course of study that can be included in their curriculum vita after graduation.
All students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The applicant must:
• be admitted to a Financial Aid eligible degree, diploma or certificate program
• be enrolled in at least six credit hours each semester
• Earn and maintain at least a 2.0 Cumulative GPA
• Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress Guidelines for Federal Student Aid
• Complete the online Work-Study application
• Not have an outstanding balance owed to the College

Department: Admissions

Job Duties: Student(s) will come in at assigned times and begin work which is assigned to each. The assigned duties consist of sending prospect and student information (post cards and letters), alphabetizing admissions documents (applications and test scores); their assigned station is at the front desk which they will assist there as needed, proof and prepare mailing of correspondences such as postcards and acceptance/applied letters, then from there make sure the area stands and tables are stocked of curriculum information (brochures), fill copy machine of paper, help with maintaining bulletin boards (flyers of events), data entry (Excel and Word documents) and when necessary assist with Admissions Day (tour guide).

Job Duties: Students will be responsible for training students on Octech software for D2L and connect. Each will be trained by a staff in the Advising Center. Students will be responsible for assisting with CM for Financial Aid, Admission and Advising. All students will assist all areas in Student Services. Students will assist with the Admission staff with their needs. Students are responsible to assist with the FAFSA process.

Ensure students sign in for tutoring; all tutors assist students with organization, study skills, note-taking tips and resources available through the center; work on projects that will enhance learning objectives for students in the center; assist students with locating campus resources and getting answers to questions; assist with events, presentations, and workshops sponsored by the student success center or math lab; oversee that students accurately sign in and out when they come in to their designated area; assist students with D2L and Connect Questions.
