Explore Robotics This Summer at OCtech

Summer Camp at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.
Two sessions of the camp, sponsored by the National Science Foundation
and OCtech, will be offered again in July.
Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College will host robotics day camps for students in July and a special workshop for teachers in June.
The VEX Robotics Summer Camp for rising eighth- through 12th-graders will be held Monday through Friday, July 10-14, and for rising fifth- through seventh-graders Monday through Friday, July 17-21.
Sessions are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Parents are required to attend a 30-minute introductory session at the start of camp and encouraged to attend a brief presentation and awards session on the last day of camp.
A non-refundable $50 camp fee includes snacks and lunch. Camps are limited to 20 participants. Payment must be included with the registration form, which is available at www.octech.edu.

A VEX Robotics Professional Development Workshop for certified third- through 12th-grade STEM teachers who would like to add robotics to their curriculum will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 19-22, on the OCtech campus. Participants will explore grade level-specific activities that are aligned to S.C. Academic Standards.
Teachers who successfully complete the workshop will receive a $200 stipend. A limited amount of travel and/or lodging support funds are available to participants living more than 50 miles from campus.
