Certified Nursing Assistant

About the Certificate

Provide personal care and emotional support to elderly and/or acutely ill patients confined to hospitals and short-term or long-term care facilities. Duties include taking temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; observing patients’ physical, mental and emotional conditions and reporting changes to nursing or medical staff; answering patients’ call bells; delivering messages; serving meals; making beds and helping patients eat.

Graduates are eligible to take the Competency Exam for state certification through the SC Department of Health and Human Services in order to be designated as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Please see our special admissions requirements.  To review approval status, please visit the OCtech Program Accreditation/Approval page.
