The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs Associate Degree Board of Commissioners has reaffirmed accreditation of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College’s business programs.
ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes for the Business, Accounting and Administrative Office Technology degree programs offered at OCtech meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.
OCtech is fully accredited with no notes or conditions.
“At OCtech, we have a history of preparing students for good jobs and great careers, and having ACBSP visit our college and validate the outstanding work done by the faculty and staff sends a message to our community about the high quality of our business programs,” President Dr. Walt Tobin said. “Having no conditions or notes as a follow-up to the self-study and visit confirms a long-held belief that our academic programs are among the best in this state. I commend the division dean, Williette Waring Berry, Program Coordinator Debra Jones and the business faculty for a job well done.”
ACBSP accreditation evaluates aspects of leadership, strategic planning, relationships with stakeholders, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials and educational support to determine if a business program offers a rigorous educational experience and demonstrates continuous quality improvement.
ACBSP first accredited OCtech’s business programs in 1998. The college is required to go through the reaffirmation process every 10 years to maintain ACBSP accreditation.
“This reaffirmation of accreditation is evidence that OCtech is committed to maintaining the highest quality business education for their students for the next 10 years, just as they have done for the past two decades,” ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Dr. Steve Parscale said. He will present the Certificate of Reaffirmation of Accreditation to OCtech on June 23 at ACBSP Conference 2019 in Houston, Texas.
