SNAP2Work
SNAP2Work is a program that connects SNAP recipients with services and resources in your community that will help you find and keep a job. OCtech has partnered with DSS to provide Vocational Training to upgrade your skills to fit the labor market so you have what employers are looking for.

Fork Lift Operator
September 10-12
T, Th 5:00 pm-9:30 pm
This course meets regulatory requirements of OSHA’s Powered Industrial Truck Standard (29 CFR, 1910.178). Successful completers will receive a three-year certification in forklift safety, preventative maintenance and driving operation skills. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Closed-toe shoes are required during class. Students must attend both evenings.
CNC Machine Operator Basics
August 19 – December 17
M,W 5:00 pm-9:30 pm
This certificate is designed to introduce the student to basic machine production operation skills. Topics covered include manual machines, blue prints, and basic computer numerical controlled machines. Job opportunities include CNC Operator, Production Machinist, and Basic Quality Control Technician.
Welding Fundamentals
August 19 – December 17
M,T,Th 5:00 pm-9:30 pm
You’ll learn welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, and gas and arc welding. Beads and Fillet Welds; GMAW equipment and setup; and GMAW basic welds are covered. This certificate is taught to national welding codes and prepares students for testing and certification for local metal fabrication shops and maintenance welding.Â
HVAC Fundamentals
August 19 – December 17
M,TÂ 5:30 pm-9:30 pm
This course is a thorough introduction on how HVAC systems control temperature, air quality and air circulation in a conditioned space. It provides an overview of safe work practices with electrical systems. Students will explore the process of installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining air conditioning, heating, and heat pump systems. Students that enroll in this course will earn an EPA Certification.
Certified Nursing Assistant
August 19 – December 17

Nursing Assistants provide personal care and support to patients under the supervision of medical and nursing staff members. They can work in hospitals, assisted living facilities, home heath area, nursing homes and more.
Emergency Medical Technician
August 19 – December 17

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are certified healthcare providers who are trained to respond, treat, and transport individuals in emergency situations. With the assistance of dispatchers, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics, EMTs are an integral component of the Emergency Medical Team.
