July 21, 1972 Clemson University announces acceptance of transfer credit from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical courses
Aug. 11, 1972 Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical credits become transferable to the University of South Carolina
May 11, 1973 Tool, Die Making program approved
Oct. 21, 1973 Medical Technology curriculum added
March 14, 1974 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society chartered (for students in degree programs)
May 8, 1974 Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical Education Center becomes Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College
April 9, 1975 dedication of $2,000,000 college expansion and opening of the Learning Resource Center and Administration Building
May 26, 1978 the Gressette Learning Resource Center and Williams Administration Building dedicated in honor of Sen. L. Marion Gressette of St. Matthews and Sen. Marshall B. Williams of Orangeburg
