Work-study is a federal need based award granted to eligible students who would like to work part-time on campus while completing their degree program. Work-study was designed to provide financial assistance to students through valuable work experience, encourage community service and work related to the student’s course of study that can be included in their curriculum vita after graduation.
If you meet the above requirements, then please review the open positions (if available) and complete the Application for College Work-Study below (be sure to list your top 2 position choices on the application). If you are eligible for Work-Study, your application will be forwarded to the hiring supervisors for the positions listed on your application. If you are selected for an interview, the hiring supervisor will call you to arrange an appointment.
All students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The applicant must:
- be admitted to a Financial Aid eligible degree, diploma or certificate program
- be enrolled in at least six credit hours each semester
- Earn and maintain at least a 2.0 Cumulative GPA
- Meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress Guidelines for Federal Student Aid
- Complete the online Work-Study application
- Not have an outstanding balance owed to the College

Job Duties: Assisting student with the current academic year FAFSA and the upcoming academic year FAFSA, assisting students with establishing a FSA ID, and assisting the Financial Aid Counselors with phone calls to student on the call report (No FAFSA Students and/or Missing Document Students); assist with D2L and Self-Service as needed or when there is not an Academic Advising Peer Mentors available; assist in taking phone messages and distributing to the appropriate Financial Aid Counselor; assisting with the Advising Center in their efforts to assist students; ensure that during heaving traffic on Fridays, we have a FA Peer Mentor available to work to assist with the FAFSA process; other duties included, but not limited to: filing, making copies, use of Microsoft Word Products, help set-up for FA events, and assist other members in student services if not working on any financial aid projects for the FA Department.

Job Duties: Student worker will be responsible for directing students to the correct office for faculty and staff advisor. Student will be responsible to contact students by phone to register for classes early. During the day the assistant will be completing various tasks, including answering and transferring phone calls. Student will assist in mailing postcards and scheduling appointments to meet with advisors. Student will be responsible for navigating students where to find the admissions criteria for the competitive programs.

Job Duties: Meet with students on a drop-in or appointment basis to assist with academic content and techniques for learning material; must meet criteria to peer tutor students in one or more of the following areas: math, science, English/writing, or accounting/business; update and enter information on tutoring sessions in the student success center database; greet students as they enter the area and answer questions about services; assist students with organization, study skills, note-taking tips, and resources available through the center; work on projects that will enhance learning objectives for students in the center; assist students with locating campus resources and getting answers to questions; assist with events, presentations, and workshops sponsored by the student success center or math lab; assist students with navigating D2L and self-service.

Job Duties: Greet students upon entry into the Testing Center, check IDs, assign lockers, give phone shut down instructions and assign computers; answer the telephone professionally, close unused programs on the computer, straighten up lab chairs, wipe clean pencils and pens, discard scratch paper, fill the printer with paper, and record the examinee’s attendance in a log book. The students are to assist in the Testing Center with Data entry and other duties as assigned to help with the upkeep of the Testing Center.
