The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program at OCtech is one of over 1,000 Student Support Services programs on college campuses nationwide.  TRIO is an academic support program designed to increase the academic performance, retention rates, and graduation rates of program participants.

The TRIO program promotes academic excellence and provides participants with the tools necessary to get the most of their post-secondary education to graduate and seek employment and/or attend a four-year college/university.

The TRIO Student Support Services Program at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College is funded by the US Department of Education to serve 209 participants.

Counseling

Students should schedule an entrance interview with a counselor, who will evaluate their academic and career goals. Academic counselors work closely with students to develop an academic plan. This process consists of advising students about selecting classes, applying for financial assistance, setting academic goals, identifying career options and using special services such as tutoring.

College Skills

Through seminars or classes – individually or in groups – we offer assistance with the study skills necessary for college success and quality of life.

Transfer Information

We offer assistance with completing college and financial aid application processes, a resource library of four-year college information, tours of various college campuses and workshops designed to prepare you for transfer to the four-year college of your choice.

Cost

All services offered to Student Support Services participants are FREE.
