DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Position teaches assigned courses and provides clinical instruction, review, evaluate and revise course objectives and serves as academic advisor.  Works with Program Coordinator to maintain accreditation guidelines and program quality.

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s Degree in Nursing, Must be licensed RN in SC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous teaching experience.

Temporary and Adjunct Positions

Temporary Building and Grounds Worker (Building and Grounds Specialist)
DEPARTMENT: Physical Plant

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Under general supervision performs grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, weed control, edging and trimming as well as domestic cleaning, maintenance or other custodial duties as needed.  

*Knowledge and experience with lawn tractors, zero turn mowers, grass cutting equipment and effective cleaning products and safety practices preferred.

*Position will require outside work.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma; or 10th grade equivalency + 1 yr. related work experience.

Adjunct Automotive & Light Diesel Instructor  
DEPARTMENT: Computer, Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: To conduct assigned classes of instruction in the Automotive Technology Program.  Supervise students working during repair of vehicles in a lab setting as a compliment to other instruction activities.

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree in appropriate major required. Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience in the automotive repair field.  Must have ASE Certification relevant to training and ASE Electrical Certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience preferred.

Adjunct Computer Technology Instructor     
DEPARTMENT: Computer, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  Teach Computer Technology courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction.  Maintain records of student academic progress and attendance, evaluate level of achievement and assign grades. Teaching assignments may include both day and evening classes, online classes or hybrid classes on the main campus or in local high schools.

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Technology or Master’s Degree in Computer Technology with relevant industry certifications in Network/Cyber Security.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification; two or more years of college level teaching experience and industry experience is preferred.

Adjunct Medical Document Formatting Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Nursing and Health Sciences

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teach Medical Document Formatting courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Healthcare Professional with a minimum of Associate Degree.  Must have strong computer skills, working knowledge of health electronic health records, proficient in working with medical document formats.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Teaching experience preferred.

Adjunct Welding Instructor               
DEPARTMENT: Career and Technical Education
OPENING DATE: 8/26/2013     CLOSING DATE: Open until filled
TYPE OF POSITION: Temporary, Part Time

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teaches classroom and laboratory courses. Prepare and teach a full range of welding coursework such as oxy-acetylene, gas metal arc, shielded metal arc (including pipe), gas tungsten arc (steel, stainless and aluminum) and fabrication. Supervises students during classroom and laboratory activities. 

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree in teaching discipline or Graduate Apprentice in appropriate field.  Minimum of 5 years full-time experience or journey worker status required. 
Possess an ability and desire to teach and work with members of the department.
Must be proficient in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, all position plate and pipe, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Must be proficient with OxyFuel and Plasma Cutting equipment. Must be capable of operation and maintaining all welding lab equipment. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s preferred. Teaching experience with NCCER certification preferred.

Adjunct Truck Driving Instructor 
DEPARTMENT: Corporate Training and Economic Development  
OPENING DATE: 02/19/2013     CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled
TYPE OF POSITION: Temporary, Part Time

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Must have a valid SC Commercial Driving License and meet all requirements stated in the SC Code of Regulations Chapter 38 Department of Public Safety, 38-215.

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years truck driving experience. Must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid South Carolina Class ‘A’ Commercial Driver’s License; have logged at least 100,000 miles of over-the-road truck driving or have completed a certified truck driver training school and have no convictions of a felony or any crime of moral turpitude preceding the date of application.

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree in Nursing for Lecturer position and Master’s Degree for Lab & Clinical.  Must be licensed RN in SC.  Experience in a setting is required to facilitate instruction of ADN students in clinical experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous teaching experience desired.

Adjunct IET Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technologies

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: To teach IET/IMT courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction.  Classes may include AC/DC Circuits, National Electrical Code, Solid State Devices, Digital Circuits, PLCs, Control Circuits, Residential Wiring and Industrial Maintenance courses.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics or Engineering Technology.  Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or another Engineering or Industrial discipline preferred.
