PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience in operations management and/or logistics; 18 graduate hours in Accounting or CPA; and/or experience with Microsoft Project. MBA also preferred.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  The employee will serve as a liaison between the Office of Career and Technology Education and the region’s school districts to ensure coordination, accountability and delivery of career development and viable K-14 programs of study to students in grades K-12;  will make business partner contacts relative to work-based learning opportunities such as shadowing and mentoring, and will provide professional development workshops in CTE and career development for teachers, guidance personnel, students and their parents.  In general, this position will support and provide career guidance activities mandated by the EEDA and Perkins IV. 
 
•    Assist schools in advancing the goals of quality career development for all students in grades K-12.
•    Coordinate professional development activities for teachers, school counselors, and career development personnel .
•    Present workshops identified by OCTE to support regional and statewide goals.
•    Support students in the exploration of career clusters and Programs of Study (POS) selection.
•    Assist with the coordination and the accountability of the district’s student career planner or Individual Graduation Plan (IGP), including dual credit opportunities.
•    Facilitate the use of career assessments and career readiness instruments.
•    Support guidance staff efforts to track and report School-to-Work (school-and work-based) data by grade level.
•    Coordinate career events and career programming with educators.
•    Coordinate community resources and community involvement relative to work-based learning and career development activities. 
•    Assist with Alliance initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent.  Must have a valid SC Class “A” Commercial Driving License and meet all requirements stated in the SC Code of Regulations Chapter 38 Department of Public Safety, 38-215.  Two (2) years truck driving experience. Must be at least 21 years of age, and  have logged at least 100,000 miles of over-the-road truck driving or have completed a certified truck driver training school. Must have knowledge of the trucking industry with particular emphasis on safety regulations and their application on the job.

*Position will require outside work.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma; or 10th grade equivalency + 1 yr. related work experience.


Adjunct Automotive & Light Diesel Instructor

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification; two or more years of college level teaching experience and industry experience is preferred.


Adjunct Welding Instructor               
DEPARTMENT: Career and Technical Education

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teaches classroom and laboratory courses. Prepare and teach a full range of welding coursework such as oxy-acetylene, gas metal arc, shielded metal arc (including pipe), gas tungsten arc (steel, stainless and aluminum) and fabrication. Supervises students during classroom and laboratory activities. 

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree in teaching discipline or Graduate Apprentice in appropriate field.  Minimum of 5 years full-time experience or journey worker status required. 
Possess an ability and desire to teach and work with members of the department.
Must be proficient in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, all position plate and pipe, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Must be proficient with OxyFuel and Plasma Cutting equipment. Must be capable of operation and maintaining all welding lab equipment. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s preferred. Teaching experience with NCCER certification preferred.
