Statement of Non-Discrimination

Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all persons and does not discriminate on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, sex or veteran’s status in its admissions policies, programs, activities or employment practices. This includes a prohibition against sexual harassment and sexual violence as mandated by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.

Title IX Information 

What is Title IX?
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 provides that no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to the discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. 20 U.S.C §1681

Title IX prohibits:
•    Gender Discrimination
•    Sexual Harassment
•    Sexual Assault
•    Stalking
•    Intimate Partner/Relationship Violence
•    Bullying and Cyberbullying
•    Retaliation

To ensure compliance with Title IX, the College has a Title IX Coordinator as the primary contact responsible for developing, adopting and/or assuring the dissemination of the College’s non-discrimination policy and for making the policy available to the College community.

Inquiries concerning the application of these laws to programs and activities of the College or any individual who believes he or she has been discriminated against in violation of the College’s non-discrimination and anti-harassment policy, including sexual harassment or gender discrimination or who has witnessed discrimination against another may obtain information and assistance regarding the College’s policies and procedures from the following resources:
