Nursing Instructor
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Lecturer, Clinical & Lab position in our PN and ADN programs. Position teaches assigned courses, assist in skills lab and provides clinical instruction. Teaching schedules may be for day, evenings and weekend.
SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- South Carolina State Board of Nursing requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
All applicants must also meet the following:
- Hold an unencumbered active license as a registered nurse in South Carolina or another Compact State
- Have a minimum of two years as a registered or advanced practice nurse in the clinical areas responsible for instructing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous teaching and hospital and/or Long Term Care experience. Specialties needed are Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Maternal, and Mental Health. Competent in Microsoft Office Products. Familiar with Electronic Health Records, Examsoft, Learning Management Systems (Desire to Learn (D2L), and Simulation labs.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Assist with financial aid application process and awarding of State and Federal financial aid to eligible students. To assist the Director of Financial Aid in all operational functions of the Financial Aid Office.
- Counsel students and parents on Financial Aid Programs. Informs students and parents about available resources and assists with completing the FAFSA as requested.
- Review student files to ensure all Federal, State, and Institutional regulatory requirements are being met. This includes reviewing and performing verification on files that have been selected for verification.
- Package assigned students with Federal, State, and Institutional aid. Responsible for determining student’s eligibility and making awards.
- Conduct Financial Aid presentations either on-campus or off-campus.
- Responsible for the management of different programs in the Financial Aid office, such as Loan program, State Scholarship program, Sponsored Billing program, , or College Work-study Program.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least two years’ work experience in Financial Aid, Student Services, Business Affairs, or related area preferred.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teach EMT courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching Performance: Conducts classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction using systematically planned and delivered instruction for courses.
- Instructional Development and Management: Reviews, evaluates, and revises course objectives, instructional materials and course outlines on a continuing basis. Designs new courses as needed for the program.
- Maintains records of student academic progress and attendance: evaluates level of achievement and assigns grades for courses.
- Academic Advisement: Serves as academic advisor to students and participates in student recruitment and development.
- Professional Development: Participates in professional development activities to improve teaching competence and to stay current in teaching field.
- College and Community Service: Serves on college committees and participates in college’s marketing effort.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, with completed anatomy and physiology courses
- National Registered Paramedic, current and in good standing
- SC DHEC credentialed instructor, authorized to teach specific levels of EMT courses. Ability to obtain paramedic instructor credentials.
- Certified instructor for the following areas: CPR, ACLS, Trauma, Pediatrics
- At least one (1) year teaching experience
- Three (3) years active field experience as a paramedic
